Coming Out at a Christian University
Thanks for the support.

Great News, Todd.
This is a way to get your story out to a larger audience. I am very proud for you. I read this news source, so I will be reading this too.
Sometime in the future, you might seriously consider writing a memoir or even a novel about your life. I know a retired English professor at UNT and a friend of mine told me I should think about this too. Having grown up in a small town and being sheltered from all appearnces of evil.. I was at a lost to confront my own sexuality around your age.
It was only until I could feel comfortable with integrating the sexuality into my spiritual like that I was able to accept myself.
You may open yourself up now to many more people wanting to tell you how thankful they are for taking such a public stance.
My best
John R Huff Jr.
Great story! Congratulations for making the Huffington Post!
Wow. Congratulations man!
Congrats!! What a great way to share with more people.
Todd, John has a good idea. I have a friend who is the business of helping people with a book. If you are interested, I can hook you up.
Good job. Great post.
Take care, Cynthia
I had forgotten or perhaps did not know but Todd has already started on a memoir. At least,
I read it yesterday I believe on the Huffington Post site.
Yes, so very glad, so well deserved. I am glad they put it on Religion page! Here is header I am sharing it with in fb.
YES! Todd is now on HUFFPO! Couldn’t happen to a better blogger. Just going through the adventure of coming out..having been through a Christian college… having been engaged..with invitations out. He finally had courage to come out…and has begun to blog about it. Just started Nov 26, 2011.
No, it hasn’t been easy. Writes beautiful blogs…go read them all! Start with PRESIDENT’S to see how much impact one brave man can have!
Getting some good comments there. I like this one for brevity and verity.
“”The shrewdest, loudest, most violent lie that LGBT people at Christian colleges and universities carry is this: that no one else like them exists.”
That is why your work here is so very necessary.
Thanks for your two comments above. I like your publicity and kind words of recommendation for Todd’s Blog and the Huffington Post article.
I grew up a P.K. in the Nazarene Church. I attended Bethany Nazarene College (Southern Nazarene University) – that is until someone hung dead rats on my dormitory door. At the time, I wasn’t out, but the rumors were out there, I’m sure. When I left the college and attended state universities the love and acceptance I encountered was a new experience. I finally came out when I was 32 and I haven’t looked back.
Thanks for your article. It will be helpful to those who are currently struggling.
